About Us

How we met

We became an official couple on October 4, 2011, and engaged on October 6, 2012. We met through our Mutual friend, Tres Knaps, who is the husband of my good friend and bridesmaid, Brooke. Tres worked with Dustin at the time at Georgia Pacific. He came up with the great idea of getting us together, and it was probably the best idea ever. We met at Tres and Brooke's house in September 2011 for an LSU game and hung out a few times after. Our first date was at Ichiban, and then a movie. We shortly became a couple and fell in love. We have a relationship like I never knew was possible. We hardly ever argue about anything. We are both easy going and enjoy so many of the same things. Match made in heaven.

The proposal

I had a sneaky suspicion that he was planning to propose soon. We had talked about getting married a lot but wanted to wait until we at least made one year together before getting engaged. With our one year mark coming up, I searched the house looking for a ring while he was at work. I couldn't find anything. He kept telling me that our anniversary date would be special, but he didn't let on to what he had planned. I didn't even where our date was going to be. That night we got all dressed up and headed out. He took me to Tsunami Sushi, on top of the Shaw building downtown. We got a table outside on the rooftop. He seemed nervous the whole time, so I knew something was up, but I couldn't find a ring in the house, so I was a little lost. While at tsunami, he points to the river walk and asked what that thing was. I explained that it was a pier that you can walk out on that goes over the water. He said we should go explore it after we eat, so I agreed. We didn't have anything else to do, so why not. We walked down the river walk to the pier. We looked at the water for a minute and started to walk back, then he stopped me, got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. Then he asked me those 4 little words, "Will you marry me". I said, "of course". The ring is exactly what I wanted, (I might have hinted previously) a dainty heart shaped solitaire diamond. I couldn't be happier.
